Respect online matters just as much as respect in person, even though the distance of a screen can sometimes make it easier to forget that simple fact. It shapes the culture that everyone eventually grows up within. This is worth returning to as circumstances and communities continue to change. It builds habits that carry forward into adulthood and beyond.

Simple habits, like pausing before sending a message or asking before sharing something private, carry the same principles of consent and respect into digital spaces too. This becomes part of a wider shift when enough people practise it. This is a quiet but meaningful contribution to a safer community overall. This is worth modelling consistently, not only occasionally when convenient.

1800RESPECT is on 1800 737 732, and Kids Helpline is on 1800 55 1800, both available for anyone navigating a difficult online situation. You do not have to work through this entirely on your own. Every call is treated with genuine care, whatever the reason behind it. Support is there for exactly as long as you happen to need it.
