Most workplaces have general policies covering respectful behaviour and how to raise a concern, though the specific details do vary between organisations. This is worth asking about directly, without any hesitation at all. It remains available whatever choice ultimately feels right for you. This is worth remembering, whatever stage of the process someone is at.

Asking a human resources contact for a plain explanation of these policies is a reasonable step if you are ever unsure of your options. It applies no matter how someone decides to move forward from here. This is something worth clarifying early, even before deciding anything at all. It remains true at every stage of what can be a difficult process.

1800RESPECT is on 1800 737 732, and Lifeline is on 13 11 14, both available any hour for workplace related concerns. You are never a bother for reaching out, whatever the hour happens to be. It is always worth reaching out, even just to talk something through. Taking that first step counts for a great deal, however small it feels.
